About Emma
Emma, a Clinical Social Worker, is the Founder and Director of The Sensory Space in Poughkeepsie, a center devoted to providing therapy and support for children, families, and individuals. Emma oversees a team of clinicians who work with clients from all over Dutchess County, including Neurodivergent children and families.
Prior to launching The Sensory Space, Emma worked in schools, residential treatment centers, and the foster care system. In addition to working with clients individually, she has facilitated programs for groups, workshops, and trainings. Emma creates spaces where people are heard, seen, and supported, which she believes builds and strengthens community. Emma is a graduate of George Washington University and earned her Masters in Social Work from Hunter College.
Emma was a Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce recipient of the Forty Under 40 Mover & Shaker Award in 2023 for her work as a small business owner and her dedication to the community. Emma works closely with local agencies and school districts. She has facilitated trainings for the Think Differently Program, Astor Services and many local school districts.
Emma lives in Lagrange with her husband, Dan, and their twins, Miles and Henry. One of Emma’s greatest joys is coaching Miles and Henry’s baseball team in the Lagrange little league. As a coach and an avid baseball fan Emma is hoping, with your support, to hit this election out of the park.
